The Hebrew Academy in Huntington Beach is seeking a warm, dynamic, and experienced Full-Time General Studies Teacher for the Lower School (Grades K–5) for the 2025–2026 school year. We are looking for an educator who is passionate about teaching, excited to work in a collaborative environment, and committed to nurturing the academic and personal growth of each student.
The Position:
The Lower School General Studies Teacher delivers engaging, standards-based instruction in core academic areas such as language arts, math, science, and social studies. The ideal candidate will integrate technology meaningfully, communicate regularly with parents, and collaborate closely with Judaic Studies colleagues to ensure a cohesive and nurturing classroom experience. Teachers meet semi-weekly in collaborative planning meetings and participate in professional development to grow in their practice.
Responsibilities Include:
Designing and delivering lessons aligned with grade-level standards
Fostering a classroom culture of curiosity, respect, and academic excellence
Collaborating with Judaic and Specialist teachers to support each student’s learning
Communicating effectively with parents, including weekly updates and conferences
Integrating digital tools and applications to enhance instruction
Supporting students with IEPs and 504 plans in partnership with school specialists
Supervising students during instructional and non-instructional times as assigned
Participating in staff meetings, professional development, and school events
Providing one period of Wednesday afternoon enrichment each week (until 4:15 p.m.)

Ideal Candidates Will Have
A valid California multiple-subject teaching credential
At least three years of successful classroom teaching experience
A passion for teaching elementary-aged children in a warm, student-centered environment
Strong classroom management and organizational skills
Familiarity with differentiated instruction and educational technology
A collaborative spirit and a growth mindset
Enthusiasm for being part of a values-driven Jewish day school community
